What type of music should we select?
All music must be of a sacred nature, or from one of
the following periods such as: Baroque (1600-1750), Classical (1750-1825), Romantic (1825-1900), or an acceptable modern composition.
Are CDs or accompaniment tracks allowed?
The Basilica’s music policy requires performances
to be live. CDs and accompaniment tracks are not permitted.
Who will perform the music for our wedding?
During the planning phase of your wedding, it is necessary
that our Director of Music Ministry be contacted to seek assistance in all matters related to music. As organist for the Basilica,
the Director is available to play for all weddings.
What about vocalists and instrumentalists?
The Director of Music Ministry has many contacts with
professional musicians and vocalists throughout the Asheville area.
