About Readings, Prayers, & Blessings . . .
How do we choose readings, prayers, & blessings
to be used in our ceremony?
The celebrant (priest or deacon) will assist the couple with this
information. Our priests use a helpful booklet, Together For Life, by Ave Maria Press, for appropriate texts, music, and rites.
Couples being prepared at the Basilica will receive a copy of
this booklet. Those being prepared elsewhere may wish to obtain a copy through avemariapress.com. Choose between the Regular version which contains readings for the Nuptial Mass and the Special version
which contains readings for a ceremony in which Mass is NOT celebrated. At the end of both editions there is a 4-page
selection sheet in which to record your preferences and serves as a guide for your celebrant.
