Parking Exceptions

When there are Funerals and Daily Masses on Holy Days of Obligation, our parishioners and visitors to the Basilica are allowed to park in unoccupied spaces in the gated lot. This practice may interfere with patron parking. Rates, however, have been established with this inconvenience in mind. When possible, a 24-hour notice will be posted at the gate entrance/exit announcing these events.

The adjacent calendar outlines the scheduled Business Office closings for 2006. The events shown in red are Holy Days of Obligation for our parishioners. On these days, patrons may expect increased attendance at daily Mass (7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.) increasing the possibility of overflow parking into the gated lot. Daily Mass typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

Funerals, on the other hand, are always unexpected. Your patience during these times is especially appreciated as we care for the family and friends of the bereft.
